Notes and voice notes
CaptureDent™ lets you attach typed or voice notes to any image. An image may have one or more notes of either type, or none.
Creating new notes
To create a new note, go to CaptureDent’s “Review” page and click the thumbnail of the image to which you want to attach a note.
What to do next depends upon whether you want to type in a text note or record a voice note.
Creating a text note
To type a regular text note, click the toolbar button with the icon of a spiral-bound notepad.
Recording a voice note
To record a voice note, click the toolbar button with the icon of a tape cassette.
Viewing and hearing notes
To see a list of all notes — text and voice — for the active patient’s images, go to the “Notes” page.
On the left side of the page you’ll see an index showing the top edges of “file cards.” Each card represents one note or voice note, the caption of which appears on the card. To select a note, click the card in the index.
Reading text notes
If the note you pick is a text note, the area to the right will show its caption and text. You can edit either or both of these. If you assigned a mouth region to the image, the image’s region will also be shown for the note; you can change this by clicking in the mouth region selector display below the note text.
Listening to voice notes
When you click a voice note card in the index, the area to the right will display a set of buttons similar to those in a tape recorder, plus an tape cassette icon that will animate whenever CaptureDent is recording or playing back a voice note.
If you previously set the “auto-play” option on by checking the appropriate checkbox, then the voice note will begin automatically to play when you click the card in the index. Otherwise, you must click the “Play” button to play the note manually.
Tip: You can replay a note by clicking the “Play” button, whether or not auto-play is enabled.
